Jana Bjorklund, Senior Counsel and Director, Employment Law and Compliance, is GovDocs’ employment law thought leader, heading the company’s research and compliance efforts.
In her role, she applies her knowledge and experience to develop and deliver groundbreaking products by leading the company’s efforts to understand today’s most challenging employment law-related questions; engage with future customers and current clients; collaborate with GovDocs’ teams to create products that solve companies’ most pressing issues; and oversee a team who researches and tracks legislation and regulatory changes, and validates that all GovDocs content achieves “air-tight” compliance.
Jana, who joined GovDocs in 2019, is an employment law attorney with extensive experience as in-house employment counsel at large, publicly traded companies, providing comprehensive legal advice on employment law and compliance matters. Since has partnered with human resource teams, senior management and outside counsel to advise on and manage the challenges of emerging legal and business risks related to all areas of employment law in the U.S. and Canada. Her work included advising on wage and hour issues, discrimination and harassment investigations, performance management, leave management, reductions in force, negotiating and drafting separation agreements, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, and conducting training for management and human resources professionals.
Outside the office, Jana enjoys traveling, testing new recipes, honing her golf skills, reading and spending time “up north at the lake.”
